E-TEC Sales President Speaks at Phoenix SMTA Meeting
Thursday, July 2, 2009 | E-TEC

Marissa Oskarsen, president and owner of E-Tec sales, participated in a panel discussion on "Assessing the Global Impact of RoHS/WEEE on Printed Wiring Board Assemblies" recently. Oskarson was one of three industry professionals taking part in the panel discussion which also included representatives from Bare Board Group and Weller Tools.

The topic of discussion evolved around the premise that, "As exemptions are expiring and leaded parts are become scarce all manufactures are or will be impacted by these regulations." The three panelists were asked to give their opinion on how that would affect their particular areas of business going forward.

Oskarsen commented, "This was certainly a provocative subject which was supported by the fact that we had record attendance. We had a lot of good questions and inquiries, following the presentation, especially on lead-free HASL as it is a good replacement for ENIG. Few are familiar with this alternative surface finish, but it is very reliable and worth considering."
